Why Dasheen

An innovative space for creative learning

Dasheen Fashion School was built around a single idea: that craft is best learned by doing. Our studio pairs small cohorts with one-to-one mentorship, professional equipment and the same patternmaking and finishing techniques we use in the atelier every day.

Whether you are starting from scratch or refining an existing practice, you will leave with a portfolio, a professional certificate, and the confidence to take a garment from first sketch to final fitting.

The curriculum

What you'll learn

Six core modules take you from your first straight seam to a finished, fitted garment.

03

Garment Construction

Build structured garments from calico toile through to a polished, finished piece.

04

Draping & Fitting

Sculpt fabric on the stand and perfect fit across real body types.

05

Learn directly from the designer

Dasheen Fashion School is led by our founder — a couturier whose love affair with fabric began long before fashion became a profession. She brings the same techniques, taste and rigour that shape the atelier’s bespoke commissions into every class.

Beyond the studio, she has made it her mission to nurture the next generation of African designers — passing on the patternmaking, construction and finishing skills that take years to master. Whether dressing a bride or training an apprentice, the goal is the same: to make beauty that lasts.
